Today we had our primary BBQ & water party
to start the summer off with some fun!
We also celebrated Bishop Johnson's birthday
(which is the next day) by singing "Happy Birthday" and
giving him a neat picture that had the kids'
names signed around the border.
Sister Radley organized the whole event
and her husband helped set everything up and
manned the grill. (Thanks, Radley family!)
Lining up for grub:
We had hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon & chips.
Plus cupcakes in honor of Bishop Johnson's birthday.
The REAL hit of the party was
the giant water slide down the hill!
(We added dish soap to make it extra slippery.)
When the kids weren't eating, they were playing on this
the entire time. We weren't sure how this would turn out since
the weather started out a bit chilly and breezy in the morning,
but it warmed up and was pleasant enough for our party.
There were also water balloons, which were meant for
water balloon volleyball or other games, but the kids loved the
slide so much that we didn't make them take a break and they
just ended up throwing the water balloons at each other.
We had a great turn-out and had a great time!
Thanks to all of those who attended and helped in any way. :)
