Activity Days 2015: January-May

We have been having so much fun
with Activity Days this year!

Here's what we've been up to...

Jan. 14th- Tie Dye Shirts
This was our first activity.
We were able to chat, get to know each other
better and made tie dye shirts.

Jan. 28th- Budget Lesson
We made money jars out of mason jars & duct tape.
We talked about the importance of paying tithing.
We had some extra time left over,
so we made personal place mats for the nursery kids
to use during their snack time.

Feb. 11th- Heart Attacking the Bishop's Office!
The girls LOVED this activity.

March 11th- Quilt Tying
We made a quilt for Ava's baby sister,
who was born at the end of March.

March 25th- Easter Family Home Evening Baskets
Each girl had 12  numbered plastic eggs, filled with items that went
along with a scripture from the Easter story in the New Testament.
We went over the lesson as we filled their baskets so they
could teach their families the same lesson.

April 8th- Sign Language Lesson
Sister Palmer's mother was raised by deaf parents.
She came and taught the kids some basic sign language and
talked about people with disabilities and how they
are like everyone else, but do things in a different way.
The girls divided into groups and performed puppet shows
depicting how we can treat others with disabilities.

April 22nd- Nail Care
Sister McFarlane's sister taught the girls about
how to properly care for their nails and then
painted their nails.

May 6th- Mother's Day Gift
The girls made flower arrangements for their moms.
They felt pretty accomplished and grown-up doing this!

May 20th- Gardening Lesson
Brother Patterson shared his gardening expertise
and awesome garden with us.  The girls were able to
plant some green beans and transfer tomato plants.

Sister Palmer Signing Off!

The past 2 1/2 years of being the
Primary President have been so fun for me!
Now it's Sister Banasky's turn to lead the children.
She is a great person and wonderful leader.
She's also creative and spiritual, so
the primary is in for a real treat!

Thank you, primary kids!
I know I'm totally biased, but you're the best.
You have helped my testimony grow stronger.
I think I've learned more from you than you have from me!
Your examples of optimism, service, missionary work, love,
prayer, & enthusiasm for the Gospel have inspired me.
I love you and will see you around church!
Love, Sister Palmer :)

One day, two baptisms!

*Saturday, December 6th*

We had TWO special baptisms at the beginning of December.

Miss Charlie was baptized by her father.
Her family just moved and we will miss seeing
her cute face!  We are glad that she was baptized
here so we could be a part of her special day before
sending her off to her new ward/primary.
Love you, Charlie!

Later that afternoon,
sweet Taylor had the opportunity to be
baptized by Elder Sanders and confirmed in church
the next morning by Elder Dass.  She was SO excited on
her big day and blessed to have the love and support of her family.
We have enjoyed getting to know Taylor better over
the last month and look forward to seeing her
contagious smile in primary. :)

Ward Summer Party

Our ward summer party was held on July 11th.
We had hamburgers, hot dogs and all sorts of potluck goodness.
The highlight for the kids: the bouncy house!

These activities were supposed to be held outdoors,
but due to a rainstorm, everything was moved inside to the gym.
That's okay, because we had a great time anyway! :)

Scout Camp 2014

The annual cub scout day camp was held in Scofield on June 28th.
The boys enjoyed archery, shooting BB guns, canoeing and boat rides,
crafts, games and other fun activities.

*June 7, 2014*

Congratulations, Ava!
Your baptism day was so lovely!
You were surrounded by family and friends who love you.
It was neat to see your dad baptize you!

We are so proud of your choice to be baptized
and love seeing your sweet face at church.
